Generate images with Pixso AI

Use image mode in Pixso AI to create visual assets from a text description. Describe the subject, setting, composition, and style to make illustrations, backgrounds, product concepts, or images for a design.

Open image mode

  1. Open a Pixso design file.
  2. Select AI at the top of the left sidebar.
  3. Switch the conversation to image mode.
  4. Describe the image you want, choose the relevant settings, and send the request.

Use image mode for a picture or visual asset. Use design mode when you want an editable interface design.

Describe the image

Include the details that determine the result:

  • Subject: what should appear in the image.
  • Setting: where the subject is placed and what surrounds it.
  • Composition: the viewpoint, arrangement, and any space needed for other page content.
  • Style: the visual treatment, materials, color palette, and lighting.

For example: “An overhead view of a designer's desk with a notebook, color swatches, and a pencil. Use soft daylight and a warm neutral palette. Keep the left third uncluttered for a heading.”

Use the prompt library

The prompt library groups terms by visual style, composition, lighting, materials, and color tone. Select relevant terms to build on your description or explore a different visual direction.

You can edit the complete prompt after adding terms. Keep the subject and intended use clear, and avoid contradictory instructions such as combining a flat icon style with detailed photographic textures unless that combination is intentional.

Optimize the prompt

The prompt optimization option lets AI refine your description before sending it for image generation. Enable it when you want help expanding a short description into a more detailed image request.

Keep the essential requirements in your own prompt, including anything that must remain in the image or any area that needs to stay clear.

Choose an aspect ratio

Choose the image's aspect ratio before generating it. The ratio affects the composition and the space available for the subject. Select a wide ratio for a banner, a square ratio for a square card, or a portrait ratio for a tall image area.

Review the generated image at its intended size in the design. If the subject is too close to an edge or a heading lacks space, refine the composition in your next request.
