Create and Manage Teams and Projects
A team brings your projects, design files, and collaborators into one workspace. Create a team for ongoing work, then use projects to organize related files. Team membership, project access, and file permissions control different parts of collaboration.
Create a team
- Open the Pixso workspace and choose Create team in the left sidebar.
- Enter a team name and create the team.
- Open the team to view its projects, files, members, and settings.
To create an individual file or import an existing design, see How to Create Files.
Update team information
The team owner and administrators manage the team's profile and settings.
- Name: double-click the team name to edit it.
- Description: select Add description beneath the name and enter a description of the team's work.
- Avatar: open the team's Settings and use Upload to choose a new image.
Use the team page to check its projects and members. Available management controls depend on your team role.
Understand team roles and guests
| Role | Purpose |
|---|---|
| Owner | Owns the team and manages its members, administrators, guests, and settings. |
| Administrator | Helps manage team membership, roles, guest access, and settings. |
| Member | Works in the team's projects and files according to the access granted to their account. |
| Guest | Accesses specifically shared projects or files without becoming a member of the whole team. |
A team role does not replace a file's access settings. Before inviting someone to edit, check both their access to the project or file and the editing permissions available to their account.
Invite team members
- Open the team and choose Invite members.
- Invite an existing user through search, or copy an invitation link.
- Review the role and permissions associated with the invitation before sharing it.
- Ask the recipient to open the invitation while signed in to the intended account.
Team owners and administrators can enable or reset team invitation links and change their permissions. Resetting an invitation link prevents people from continuing to use the previous link.
For a review involving only one project or file, use that project's or file's sharing controls. This lets you provide the relevant access without adding the reviewer to the entire team.
Manage members and guests
Open the team's member list to review who has access. Owners and administrators can change member roles, remove members, and manage guests. Guest management includes changing the content they can access, converting a guest into a team member, or removing their access.
After changing a role or permission, have the collaborator reopen the relevant project or file using the same account. If editing is still unavailable, check the file's sharing settings and the account's editing entitlement.
Create a project
- Open the team and choose New project.
- Enter a project name.
- Choose who in the team can access the project and whether they can view or edit it.
- Create the project, open it, and add the files needed for the work.
You need the appropriate team permission to create a project. Review the access choice before confirming; a project intended for a small working group should not automatically be shared with everyone.
Pin, rename, and share projects
- Pin a project: select the pin on its project card to keep it in the left sidebar for quick access. Select it again to unpin it.
- Rename a project: open the menu beside the project name and choose the rename option.
- Share a project: use its share control to invite a user or copy a project invitation link. Review the link's access settings before sending it.
Use file sharing settings when you need to adjust access to an individual design rather than the entire project.
Dissolve a team
Dissolving a team affects the projects and files it contains. First save the work you need to retain and confirm with collaborators that the team is no longer needed.
- Open the team's Settings with an account authorized to manage the team.
- Choose Dissolve team.
- Read the confirmation, check that it names the correct team, and confirm only when the required files have been preserved.
Do not use team dissolution to remove a single collaborator or tidy one project. Change that person's access or organize the project instead.
