Layer Panel

1. Switch Layer Panel

There are four options on the left panel: Layer, Component, Resource, and Page. You can choose any of them to switch between each layer panel. You can also do it using shortcut keys:

macOS
Layer panel and Page: Option 1
Component panel: Option 2
Windows
Layer Panel and page: Alt 1
Component panel: Alt

2. View Layers

Any frames, groups, or objects that you add to the canvas will show on the Layer panel. You can tell whether the layer is a frame, a group, or a specific object by checking the icon next to it.

2. View Layers in Pixso

Pixso nests any child object into its parent group or frame. You can fold and unfold layers within a group or a frame.

The new layer will be added to the top of the list, or to the top of the group or frame that it belongs to. It can also be added above the layer you currently select.

You can perform many other interactions:

  • Select layers, groups, and frames
  • Adjust the layer order
  • Rename layers individually or in bulk
  • Show or hide layers
  • Lock or unlock layers

3. View Components

Components are design elements that you can reuse. These can be buttons or icons, or more complex UI elements such as navigation menus or status bars.

You can find all the components in the Component panel. You can also drag components from the panel onto the canvas to create instances.
On the Component panel, you can:

  • Search for specific components. Pixso can look for components in the current file.
  • Open the team resource library.
  • View the local components created in the current file.
  • View the components used in the file.
  • View the components of the enabled resource library.

3. View Components in Pixso

Note: Pixso can group components by name. If you have various components, the hierarchy will appear as File > Page > Frame.

4. Page

In a file, you can create as many pages as you need. Each page has its own canvas to which you can add your designs. You can also create separate prototypes on each page.
