Customize shortcuts
Open the file menu, then go to User preferences → Keyboard shortcuts to review or adjust your shortcut assignments. Start with the actions you use most often, such as moving around the canvas, selecting layers, and creating slices.
Use the column for your operating system when reading the table. On macOS, ⌘ means Command, ⌥ means Option, ⇧ means Shift, and ⌃ or ^ means Control.
If a shortcut does not perform the expected action
- Check where the keyboard focus is. A text layer, number field, search field, or open dialog may use the same key for text entry or another action.
- Finish the current edit or close the dialog, then select the canvas or target layer and try again.
- Check the assignment in your keyboard-shortcut preferences, especially if you or another user of the device has customized it.
- Check whether the browser or operating system is intercepting the key combination.
For actions that depend on selection, choose the relevant object first. Component actions require a component or instance, and text-formatting actions require a text selection.
